Making an Autumnal Victorian Petticoat // 1890s Petticoat
Переглядів 8 тис.10 місяців тому
It is finally Autumn and I am so excited for all the beautiful fall colours! I needed a new petticoat for under my Pansy Gown project and when I came across a description of an "Orange watered silk taffeta petticoat" I decided to make one for myself. To be a bit more budget friendly I opted for orange cotton, but I am very happy with how it came out! MATERIALS: 6m 45" wide cotton 42" of 1/2" wi...

Огромное спасибо за видео!!!
Now you can do a smaller project or a bigger project having two frames
I keep looking for how to make a stand and finally found this. Thank you! Also, wondering if you can slide a box or tray inside the hollow of the bolster tube to store your bobbins! Might work.
Wow I'm just learning at 34. But this is exciting because if I learn I can teach my daughter
У нас валики делают как раньше из соломы.
Cocoon coats are the best .
Love the gown ,well done helped me with a lot of technical things. It looked pretty good after all the silhouette is different as you not eveeyone is stick thin, llove the over gowns. Really good.
1995!!! Primarily because of Firth! 😍
Can I make from underwear white to color shirt?
I enjoyed your video. what would be very helpful to me you would be things like what size needle and thread on with the fabric you use the tension setting and stuff like that working with this kind of fabric is very frustrating for me. I am making a 1920s dress from other dresses and I'm going to be using fabric glue because I cannot so without breaking my needle to save my life.
This helps so much with trying to figure out the pleats
Please educate me on the importance of this, i might need one soon❤
What's the difference between corsets and stays?
Please which bone is this? It doesn't look like plastic bone
Can I make long length?
I mean with zipper for bottom during very cold winter, zipper for about during spring and fall?
Nice job
Thank's !
This has definitely encouraged me to buy myself a dress form.
I love it. I had something like that in my childhood. Which pattern is it, Please ? 🌹
It's really so cute. I love the big collar . 🌹
Strawberry🍓
I really hope this helps me cause even tho I'm very much a beginner I love seeing and am incredibly meticulous with my crafting so I hope that makes up for my beginnerness
Your ‘cross-stitched’ pegboard looks lovely!
🙂🙂
Good evening! This is the second year I've been watching this video and admiring it. This year I decided to sew the same dress, but I can't find such a book anywhere (Can you send a photo of this page so that you can fully study the construction of the skirt and read all the comments written on this page for the dress? I'll write you my mail.
Oh, this was so lovely! I love the fan lacing; this is the first time I had seen it.
@@KristinaHoneyHavenFarm thank you! 1830s corsets also have the fan lacing on the orginals and they make putting them on so easy!
Amazing and gorgeous. Even though I had previously seen your sampler video, I never realized that could turn into a piece like you just did. At some future point I want to try this. You know...after all the other projects on my completion list. So many beautiful craft ideas, so little time.
Very cute. I love the detail work. The color is what really drew my attention. Well, that and the words "corset cover."
So clever😍❤️😍
❤❤❤
i hadnt heard of needle lace till searching amazon for bobbin lace and came across some books called needle lace - with pictures of bobbin lace making on the front.. i didnt buy them cos clearly the author used the wrong pictures and well if they cant get a picture of their subject matter right, the content doesnt sound promising
How do you sew the shoulders please ? There is two lines of sewing right ? One on top and one underneath ?
You have done a great job, nice and slow so we can appreciate details and gentle music. Many thanks.
Love this video! ❤ This makes me feel more confident that I might be able to do this myself. I am thinking about making myself a summer corset of some kind because I really loathe bra bands. I have an area where I previously pinched a nerve in my back, and when summer storms come through it can still be painful; the bra band hits in exactly the wrong spot. I think a corset would be a much better solution.
for anyone wondering, the music in the first few parts of the video is Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no. 4
Question. After shirring my bobbin casing would not tighten for regular thread to finish top. Did I stretch it out with elastic thread and need to get another one ?
I did a lace collar with out the tape, but now seeing a collar with the tape I think it makes it look more like wearable fashion. Maybe I should try with tape?
Well done girl 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
apricot!
What a stunning coat ❤ bravo 👏
What great additions. Nice to see you.
Beautiful!!
Beautiful dresses ❤
Thank you for this great tutorial and an introduction to Skillshare. I tried to just browse classes, but that site requires digning up for the privilege. Not sure you were aware of that. I belong to a cosplay sewing group and think this tutorial will be handy for all of us.
